The Group Collectively Releases Episode 7 of The Unemployed (Web Series)
LAS VEGAS, April 2- Oskar, Crystal, and Kent’s unemployed adventures continue at www.unemployedseries.com. The Crack House is the seventh episode of ten in the first season of The Unemployed (Web Series).
Episode 7, The Crack House: After the assault at Placeholder Advertising Agency, Oskar, Crystal, and Kent seek refuge from the police with the aid of Crack Whore.
The Unemployed (Web Series) introduces its audience to the humorous side of the very serious topic of unemployment. It is this realness and relatability that makes the series so engaging. The one-liners keep the audience laughing, and its farcical nature reminds us that this is an issue our society cannot ignore.
The cast and crew of The Unemployed (Web Series) have been busy over the past year with filming and screenings! Episode 1, The Unemployment Mixer, screened at a comedy competition organized by the Burbank International Film Festival and Flappers Comedy Club. The episode was lauded by the audience and selected as a finalist. Episode 3, Pub Quiz, was an Official Selection of the 2011 Burbank International Film Festival. Episode 1 and episode 5, The Interview, Part 2, were Official Selections of LAWEBFEST 2012. The cast has appeared as guests on Jim and Them’s podcast, XRadio.biz’s Crazian InVazian Show, Vegas News Review (as they set the world record for the “Longest Individual Consecutive Hours of Broadcast”), and The Burbank Film Festival Show on 92.5 KYHY. Corey Kronengold of DIGIDAY said, “The Unemployed deserves high praise for a Web series,” and “It wouldn’t surprise me to see The Unemployed wind up on TV.”
“We wanted to take a comedic approach to this far-reaching issue affecting so many people. Even some of the cast and crew have struggled with unemployment recently,” says Eddie Deirmenjian, co-creator of the series. He, along with Justy Hutchins, Jonathan Suhadolnik, and a team of writers have taken on the task of keeping the series relevant and entertaining. “It has definitely been one of the more difficult–yet rewarding–projects our team has taken on, and that is really what makes it so much fun. We are always thinking of new and ridiculous ways to get Oskar, Crystal, and Kent into more trouble… You’ll never believe what we have in store for episodes 8, 9, and 10!”
